Beer: Saison

Michael Vandervoort’s saison took 2nd place in the final round for the American Homebrewer’s Association’s National Homebrew Competition (NHC) in Providence, RI in 2019. This is his recipe.

Batch size: 5 gallons

5.75lb Pilsen malt
0.625lb Carafoam
1.875lb Wheat malt 

0.75oz Saaz (2.8% A.A) @ 60 min
0.4oz Citra (13.8% A.A) @ 20 min 
0.75oz Mandarina Bavaria (9.6 A.A) @ 5 min 
0.4oz Mosaic (12.5 A.A) @ Whirlpool 20 min 

Escarpment Labs Ontario Farmhouse Blend 

Mash at 150°F for 60 min 
Optimum Fermentation Temp:  22-27°C (71.5-80°F) 

OG: 1.049 
FG: 1.007 
ABV 5.5%
