On Saturday June 22, 2019, the Ale and Lager Enthusiasts of Saskatchewan (ALES) held their annual year-end barbecue at the Regina Wildlife Federation. Despite a little bit of rain, around 85 people attended, consisting of ALES club members and their families.
There was plenty of food to go around with Butcher Boy Meats roasting a whole pig, stuffed with sausage. There was also maple-bacon baked beans, apple slaw, fresh buns and a tangy bbq sauce.
The food was delicious! So was the beer. And plentiful! Pile-o-Bones brewery provided a keg of their Impeccable Timing Stout, Bushwakker provided a keg of Cheryl’s blonde and the ALES Club Executive team brewed up a fruited brett ipa just for the occasion. There were also lots of bottles left over from the ALES Open competition when the barbecue began. Not so many when it was over.
All-in-all, the event was a success! We celebrated the awesome community of home brewers here in Regina and had a great time doing it! Looking forward to club meetings starting up again in the fall and already excited for next year’s barbecue!
Special thanks to the ALES Club Exec team for a great year!
