Canadian Homebrewers Association launched their first homebrew conference—Canadian Homebrewing Summit on September 12, 2020.
Chris Saunders started homebrewing in 2011 when he received a copy of Palmers’ How to Brew for his birthday. Both him and his partner have been homebrewing ever since and have mostly focused on brewing German and Czech style lagers. Chris is a lab technician and internal solutions developer at Escarpment Laboratories where he has been for the last 3 years. Before that he was a production brewer at a large regional brewery after he’d graduated the Niagara College Brewing Program.
Recent years have witnessed a huge amount of interest in these Norwegian yeasts. Kveik takes everything we thought we knew about brewing and flips it on its head. We will discuss a brief history of kveik, talk about how to use it, explain what it isn’t, and detail how to handle it.
